Underwater Cinematographer Roger Munns will discuss the techniques, equipment and preparation needed to film a story for Blue Planet II. Through behind-the-scenes photos and videos he will show some of the wonders and challenges of filming exciting new fish behaviour for the coral reef episode in Mabul island, Sabah, Malaysia.
Roger Munns is a British, Emmy and BAFTA award-winning cinematographer based in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. He was one of the principal cinematographers on David Attenborough’s Blue Planet 2, shooting ten sequences across four different episodes on the production. He has worked extensively on other landmark BBC natural history productions such as Life, Life Story and Seven Worlds – One Planet, and was also a Director of Photography on the recent Apple TV underwater screensavers.
