After 23 years as founder & CEO of, Simon Christopher set up TimorBlue end-2018 to fast-track deep impact marine conservation dove-tailed with maximum global awareness about the Coral Triangle from Timor-Leste.

As the smallest, newest and poorest country in the Coral Triangle, with hundreds of blue whales swimming past Dili each year and dugongs still living next to the international airport, plus recently announced ‘Hope Spot’ with Dr Sylvia Earle’s Mission Blue, Timor-Leste is absolutely the key microcosm for the rest of the world to (start) appreciating the true value and importance of marine biodiversity.

Firmly believing today’s ‘BLU’ has to be tomorrow’s ‘GREEN’, with UNESCO’s Ocean Decade fast approaching, Simon’s delighted to have spawned/be delivering BluHope campaign with British High Commission alongside Plastic Oceans UKMURA TechnologyWRAP, YTL CorporationZuBlu, together with leading ADEX, DIVE Magazine and Geographical online platforms across a whole week starting on World Oceans Day, 8th June 2020.
